The Mazenod Foundation was established in 2024 to build community and alumni networks, goodwill towards the College and to financially assist Mazenod in its future developments and programs through a variety of fundraising programs. The Foundation works with the College and its various coterie groups to help achieve Mazenod’s strategic goals.
A strong and supportive Foundation underpins many Catholic, Private and Independent schools, both here in Australia and overseas. It is widely recognised that school fees cover operating and general costs, but creating increased educational opportunities for students and families coupled to the on-going development of buildings and facilities require additional financial support. Our Foundation seeks philanthropic funds from our broader College community to provide current and future student opportunities for a Mazenod education and thes
facilities and resources that are fit for purpose and enable the best possible learning and teaching environments.
The Mazenod College Foundation provides four significant philanthropic programs for our community to support:
Development of Buildings and Facilities
Building Fund
Contemporary learning spaces play an especially important role in the education of students. They support students and staff in providing a stimulating environment that is conducive to students reaching their full potential.
The Mazenod Building Fund was established in 2000 to provide parents and alumni with the opportunity to make tax deductible donations to assist the College with its building program. Mazenod is now embarking on the next stage of a comprehensive, multi-year capital works program that will build exciting new facilities and redevelop existing ones.
Tax deductible donations to our Mazenod College Building Fund are gratefully accepted and will assist us in continuing this vital program that benefits both current and future students. Opportunities exist for individuals and families to make naming donations to acknowledge and commemorate their family or a loved one.
Transforming Lives
Scholarships Fund
The Mazenod Foundation Oblate Scholarships Program has been established to provide more opportunities for worthy students, who would otherwise not enjoy the benefits of a Mazenod education, to attend our school. There are many students from disadvantaged and refugee backgrounds with a passion for learning. Your tax-deductible donation will assist the College to provide more places for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access a Mazenod education.
Donations to our Scholarships Fund can be a single gift or a pledge over 2 – 6 years to assist a student with his journey through our College. There are opportunities for both individuals and families to name a scholarship and commemorate their family or a loved one.
1967 Bequest Society
Gifts in Wills
Gifts in the form of bequests are an increasingly significant source of philanthropic support for educational institutions and other organisations. They represent a way of giving back for people who value a Mazenod education and have benefited from being part of our College community.
Making a bequest is one of the simplest ways to support Mazenod College. By including the College in your Will, you are providing young men with the gift of education. Your bequest, irrespective of size, will make a difference – it all helps. Your bequest can support buildings, facilities and programs or our needs-based Scholarship Fund, to enable more worthy students to enjoy the benefits of a Mazenod education.
By becoming a member of our 1967 Bequest Society, you are joining a wonderful coterie of alumni, current and past parents, staff and friends of the College who have made provision for Mazenod in their Will. The Society is our way of recognising, acknowledging and honouring the contribution you have made to help secure the future of our College.
Business Partner Program
This provides valuable business networking and sponsorship opportunities through our extensive College and alumni community and the Foundation’s events program.
As an Old Collegian (Class of 1987) it’s been fantastic to see Mazenod College thrive—not only as a school but as a connection point to the community. My hope is that all past students can reflect on their time at Mazenod and choose to make a contribution, monetary or otherwise, for the generations that succeed us to continue the journey.
