Strong Performances at AVSC 2024

Mazenod College proudly participated in the 2024 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup (AVSC), joining over 500 teams from 160 schools across Australia in this prestigious event. Our students showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, representing the College with distinction on the national stage.

The AVSC is a cornerstone event in the school volleyball calendar, bringing together young athletes to compete at the highest levels while fostering growth and camaraderie. Mazenod College entered teams across multiple divisions, reflecting our commitment to empowering students through purposeful and inclusive sporting opportunities.

Highlights of the Competition

• Year 8 Honours Division: Our Year 8 team achieved outstanding success by securing the Gold Medal, finishing first in the highest division for their age group. Their dedication, resilience, and cohesive teamwork were truly inspiring.
• Year 7 Division 1: Competing in the top division available for their year level, our Year 7 team earned the Silver Medal. Their exceptional performance highlights the promising talent and commitment within our younger cohorts.

• Year 8/9 Development Team (Division 2): Placed 8th, gaining valuable experience and demonstrating significant growth and adaptability.
• Year 9 Honours Division: Achieved 6th place amidst strong competition, reflecting their persistent effort and teamwork.
• Year 10 Honours Division: Secured 6th place, showcasing consistent performance and a strong sense of unity.
• Open Honours Division: Our senior team also finished 6th, exemplifying leadership and dedication in their final year of school volleyball.
