National Reconciliation Week

Our College community have recently been engaging in a variety of Indigenous cultural activities to acknowledge National Reconciliation Week.

We were honoured to have Bunurong man Adam Magennis perform a smoking ceremony at last week's ACC Senior Football match, and he graciously shared his knowledge and experiences with some of our staff on our beautiful native country in Shoreham.

In the classroom, Ms. Stracke’s Year 10 History students participated in a historical timeline activity to review First Nations' rights and freedoms, while other students created a banner representing Mazenod’s commitment to ‘be a voice for generations’, the theme for NRW 2023.

We are extremely thankful to be given these opportunities to learn and explore Indigenous culture as we continue this reconciliation journey.
