2023 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup

A record-breaking AVSC tournament took place on the Gold Coast last week for the 2023 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup, with nearly 5,500 students gearing up to represent their schools.

Nodders showed up in full force, with standout performances from our Year 10 Honours Team and Year 7/8 Developmental Team, securing Bronze and Silver Medals respectively for the College.

A highlight of the week was the tribute our Year 10 Honours team displayed for coach Joe Moore, with custom 'Moore' jerseys worn during their final match of the tournament. For those who may not know, Joe is retiring from his 35-year legacy at Mazenod and will be sorely missed by staff and students alike. We sincerely thank him for his contributions to Mazenod College, for founding our successful volleyball program, and for shaping the generations of students that have found a greater sense of belonging and camaraderie because of Joe's influence.
