The Mazenod College Advisory Council operates in accordance with the MACS Terms of Reference. The roles and responsibilities of those who lead in Catholic Schools is outlined in the Charter, ‘Working Together in Mission’ (January 2021). Consequently, the Advisory Council provides a forum for consultation and participation in the operations of the College by supporting the College Principal.
Forward thinking leaders with an appreciation of our solid foundations.

Mazenod College was founded by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in February 1967 to serve the growing needs of parishes in the suburbs of Clayton, Springvale and Waverley. In July 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding for Mazenod Regional College was signed between the Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools (MACS), and the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. This solidified the long-term relationship between the Founding Fathers of the College and the Melbourne Archdiocese. Mazenod College is led by College Principal Dr Paul Shannon, and College Rector Fr Harry Dyer OMI.
Mazenod College Advisory Council
Mazenod College is a school which operates with the consent of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is operated and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).
MACS governs and operates Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to continue the mission of Catholic education to proclaim the Good News and equip our young people with the knowledge, skills, and hope to live meaningful lives and enrich the world around them.
Because the good work of educating the young is a co-responsible task led by every member of the Catholic school community, School Advisory Councils have been established to provide a crucial point of connection between the wider school community and school leaders. This governance model was designed to ease the administrative burden on our schools and parishes, allow parish priests to focus on the mission of education in the parish, enable greater collaboration between schools and ensure greater consistency in school policies and procedures.
More information about MACS is available at www.macs.vic.edu.au.
