Philippines Tragedy

2 December 2013

Friday 22nd November marked our prayerful and financial response to Typhoon Haiyan of the typhoon in the Philippines. With a number of our families having relatives affected, it was a wonderful opportunity to stand in solidarity with our affected families. The Oblates are ministering to those in need and all of the funds generated will reach the Philippines( The community generously raised over $11,000). For those wishing to make further donations, I recommend the following avenues: Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate at http://www.oblates.com.au/MAMI.aspx or Caritas http://www.caritas.org.au/ or Medicines sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) http://www.msf.org.au/. Thanks to everyone who was able to make a prayerful or financial contribution to the people of the Philippines.

The work of the Oblate Missions is also being appreciated by two separate parties. A contingent of Staff and Students are currently travelling to India and another to China to witness the incredible work of the Oblates as they minister to those most vulnerable. From all accounts everything is going well.
