Emerging Leaders attend Politics Conference

74 of the strongest future leaders in Melbourne travelled to Mulgrave on Tuesday for the 2nd Mazenod International Politics Convention. Students from Glen Waverley SC, Avila College and Mazenod embarked upon a journey of critical analysis and learning whilst trying to win the Convention based around the intriguing topic: ‘Bin Laden vs The West: A Quest for the Truth’.


Students were treated to a series of Presentations, Video Clips, Interviews, and Special Guest Speakers leading them on a journey to discover many of the mysteries surrounding Bin Laden. Beginning with his education in Saudi Arabia and early influences, to his rise as a Mujahedin fighter in Afghanistan, the horrifying terrorist attacks on the United States and his escape and disappearance from 2001 onwards.


Students competed in groups and at the completion of the day presented their findings to a panel of esteemed judges. The following Mazenod Students were part of the winning team:

The subject ‘International Politics’ is offered to students in Years 10, 11 and 12 at Mazenod.
