In honour of France, the country of Bishop de Mazenod, there is a band of five fleur-de- lys along the top, one for the Oblate Fathers and one each for the four foundation parishes. The centre features the Cross, the Christian symbol, worn by the Oblates who direct the College, and on it is mounted the emblem of the State of Victoria, the Southern Cross on a blue background, the colour of Mary Immaculate. The letters O.M.I. appear around the foot of the Cross indicating the Oblate service of Christianity. The motto, " Nihil linquendum inausum---Leave nothing undared", is taken from the writings of Bishop de Mazenod. The College colours--black, white and blue--appear in the badge.
